Black Bear
Black Bear has spent over a decade producing and financing premium content that finds audiences in cinemas around the world. From The Imitation Game to Sing Sing, from Immaculate to A Working Man, and most recently Train Dreams—nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture—we have consistently backed filmmakers and stories that reward the shared theatrical experience. With a direct distribution business in the UK and Canada that spans 13 years and more than 700 titles, Black Bear’s recent entry into the US marketplace takes that commitment one step further. CinemaCon 2026 marks our first appearance in Las Vegas as a fully integrated studio, arriving with a slate we are proud to put directly in front of moviegoers.
In the months and years ahead, Black Bear will bring a dynamic slate of films that reflect our core philosophy: distinctive filmmakers, strong talent, and commercial stories curated to drive audiences into your theaters:
On May 15, In the Grey opens nationwide. Starring Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza González, the Guy Ritchie-directed film follows a covert team of elite operatives living in the global shadows. When a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, they’re sent to take it back — an impossible heist that erupts into a deadly game of strategy, deception, and survival.
Tuner arrives May 22. In Academy Award-winning director Daniel Roher’s first narrative feature that blends romance and thriller, Leo Woodall stars as a gifted piano tuner whose meticulous skill for tuning pianos leads him to discover an unexpected aptitude for cracking safes, turning his life upside down. Woodall stars alongside Havana Rose Liu with Academy Award-winner Dustin Hoffman, and features performances by Tony Award-winner Tovah Feldshuh, Lior Raz, and Jean Reno
August 14 brings The Rivals of Amziah King, written and directed by Andrew Patterson and starring Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey. Deep in the backwoods of rural Oklahoma, charismatic and musically gifted Amziah King (McConaughey) leads a ragtag bluegrass band while running the town’s premier honey-making operation. When his estranged foster daughter unexpectedly returns, Amziah seizes the chance to reconnect and build a family business together. But the honey trade is ruthless, and Amziah’s rivals threaten to destroy everything he has built.
Spa Weekend comes to theaters later this summer from the creators of Bad Moms and The Hangover. Starring Leslie Mann, Michelle Buteau, Isla Fisher, and Anna Faris, the movie follows childhood best friends who escape for a weekend of pampering and some much-needed time away from the pressures of motherhood and work. When their trainwreck friend unexpectedly shows up, the relaxing retreat quickly spirals into chaos with hilarious consequences.
And this fall brings Wife & Dog, starring Academy Award-nominee Rosamund Pike, Academy Award-nominee Benedict Cumberbatch, and Academy Award-winner Anthony Hopkins. From director Guy Ritchie, the film follows the ruthless Fairbank family, where the pursuit of power ignites betrayal, shifting alliances, and murder as rival factions compete for control of the family empire.
Later this year comes the Sundance hit Wicker, directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson and starring Academy Award winner Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, Peter Dinklage, and Elizabeth Debicki. An audacious comedic fable about sex, marriage, and social convention, the story centers on an ostracized fisherwoman (Colman) who commissions a wicker husband from the local basketmaker (Dinklage). When she develops an unexpected romance with the creation (Skarsgård), the relationship sparks jealousy and threatens the village’s social order, setting off outrage and chaos.
We are grateful to all our exhibition partners whose continued investment in the moviegoing experience makes a slate like Black Bear’s possible, and CinemaCon is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the collective strength of our industry. Black Bear is proud to be part of that conversation, and we are excited to work together to ensure that great films keep finding their way onto your big screens.
