NEON
At NEON, we believe in the theatrical experience—that cinema remains the most powerful way to bring audiences together. That belief is what brings us back to CinemaCon each year, and why we’re excited to return with a slate that reflects the bold, filmmaker-driven storytelling that defines our company.
We value this opportunity to connect with our industry partners and to share an early look at the projects we’re passionate about. This year, we’re proud to highlight Boots Riley's I Love Boosters, Osgood Perkin’s The Young People, Chloe Domont’s A Place in Helland William & David Greaves' Once Upon a Time in Harlem.
Each of these films is distinct in tone and style, but together they represent the ambition and originality we seek in every project—bold filmmakers, singular visions, and stories designed to be experienced together on the big screen. We’re excited to give CinemaCon attendees a first glimpse of what’s ahead.
On May 1, we’ll bring our next big horror film Hokum to theaters, written and directed by Damian McCarthy and featuring Adam Scott in a strikingly unexpected role. The film centers on a haunted hotel whose eerie atmosphere recalls The Shining, its sense of isolation, combined with an unsettling legend and backstory. And yes, there’s an ax.
Later in May, we’ll bring youI Love Boosters from Boots Riley. Boots is the fantastic filmmaker behind the hit film Sorry to Bother You. I Love Boosters is about a crew of shoplifters (“Boosters”) known as The Velvet Gang who take aim at a cutthroat fashion maven. The star studded cast includes Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, Demi Moore, Will Poulter, Taylour Paige, LaKeith Stanfield, Poppy Liu, and Eiza Gonzalez. Variety calls it The Devil Wears Prada meets Set It Off and Collider says, “One of the Year’s Wildest, Most Adventurous Movies.”
This Summer, NEON will release this year’s hot Sundance acquisition,Leviticus, which comes to us as a feature debut from writer / director Adrian Chiarella and the producers of Talk to Me. This film follows two teenage boys who must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most - each other.
And coming soon: The Young People from Osgood Perkins. When Oz is in the director’s chair, you know you are in for a ride… The film features Lola Tung, Nico Parker, and Nicole Kidman. The NEON fall Awards campaign will kick off with Fjord, an upcoming drama written, co-produced, and directed by Palme D’Or winner Cristian Mungiu. The film stars Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve as a Romanian-Norwegian couple whose relationship is put under intense scrutiny after relocating to the wife’s remote hometown in Norway.
At Christmas, NEON will release A Place in Hell from filmmaker Chloe Domont, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones (Twisters), Andrew Scott (All of Us), and Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans). A sharp, propulsive thriller, the film follows Rebecca (Williams), a high-powered defense attorney just weeks away from maternity leave, who spirals into suspicion when a young new hire, Cate (Edgar-Jones), arrives—seemingly poised to replace her. What begins as professional paranoia escalates into a psychological battle of ambition, identity, and control. Channeling the sleek, adult thrillers of the ’90s like Single White Female andCape Fear, A Place in Hell updates the genre for today with the tension and bite of Gone Girl and The Housemaid.
Rounding out the slate is another Sundance standout, Once Upon a Time in Harlem, a once-in-a-lifetime documentary that places you inside an intimate gathering of the visionary artists and intellectuals who shaped the Harlem Renaissance. The film captures their dynamic exchanges—debates, ideas, and creative energy—offering a rare window into a defining cultural moment. Directed, restored, and completed by David Greaves, the project brings to life footage originally shot over 50 years ago by his father, William Greaves.
There are many more extraordinary films we look forward to unveiling soon and we humbly thank all of our incredible theatrical partners for their continued support across the NEON slate. We firmly believe the communal experience of cinema remains the world’s cultural heartbeat and together we have the opportunity to spark life changing moments that can only be experienced inside your theaters. Cinema forever!
