Focus Features
All of us at Focus Features are delighted to be here at CinemaCon celebrating bold, original stories and the enduring power of the theatrical experience that makes it all possible.
This past year was one for the books and, and in true cinematic fashion, the defining moment happened exactly where it is meant to, in theaters.
Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet captured hearts week-after-week during an inspired 18-week domestic run, ultimately crossing $100 million globally on Oscar Sunday, where Jessie Buckley won Best Actress and Focus Features celebrated 13 Academy Award® nominations across Hamnet, Craig Brewer’s Song Sung Blue, and Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia.
Our slate also sent off Downton Abbey’s Crowley family with a finale that crossed $100 million globally, going three for three for the franchise and featured films from some of cinema’s most celebrated filmmakers, from Wes Anderson and Steven Soderbergh to Ethan Coen alongside exciting new voices like Ronan Day-Lewis.
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do: bringing extraordinary films from the most exciting filmmakers to the big screen, where they belong.
Looking ahead, Focus’ 2026 slate spans a variety of films for every audience including Werwulf, continuing the studio’s longstanding collaboration with acclaimed director Robert Eggers, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, and Willem Dafoe in what promises to be the most terrifying film ever made, arriving in theaters on Christmas Day; in partnership with Blumhouse, May 15 marks the arrival of a new voice in horror with Curry Barker and his "pure nightmare fuel" film Obsession; The Uprising, also with Blumhouse, sees Paul Greengrass direct Andrew Garfield as the legendary leader of a ferocious rebellion against the tyranny of King Richard II; Pressure, from the producers of Darkest Hour, directed by Anthony Maras, is the untold true story of the fateful 72 hours before D-Day, where one wrong move - and the threat of mother nature's wrath - could ruin everything. The courageous, rousing film that stars Andrew Scott, Brendan Fraser, Kerry Condon, Chris Messina, and Damian Lewis, and will be in theaters ahead of the annual D-Day day of remembrance, on May 29; pop sensation Hayley Kiyoko makes her feature debut with the coming-of-age film Girls Like Girls, based on her hit song and #1 NYT Bestseller arriving June 19; and in partnership with Working Title comes Georgia Oakley’s fresh take on the original romantic comedy, Jane Austen’s beloved Sense and Sensibility, which stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and introduces Esmé Creed-Miles in a breakout role audiences will fall for on October 16.
As always, we want to extend our deepest thanks to our exhibition partners; you are the backbone of this business we love. It’s your passion and continued support that allow Focus to keep taking creative risks and bringing unforgettable stories to the big screen. We cannot wait to see these films come alive in your theaters, in front of audiences everywhere!
